A 250cm^3 glass bottle is completely filled with water at 50C. The bottle and water are heated to 60C. How much water runs over if: a. the expansion of the bottle is neglected: b. the expansion of the bottle is included?

At room temperature (25C) the length of a steel rod is measured using a brass centimetre scale. The measured length is 20 cm. If the scale is calibrated to read accurately at temperature 0C find the actual length of steel rod at room temperature.
